It was actually more difficult to pack up our tiny home than our tent.
Woody had to haul everything out piece by piece in the rain. I had a sore throat (which was going to end up lasting me for days.) We drove through Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the rain. Su saw a huge buck elk and Woody saw the road and rain, rain, more rain.
The traffic was very heavy in and out of Knoxville and we fought through rain, fog, and terrible visibility. It got better between Knoxville and Nashville, and we enjoyed the lovely hills and woods. We realize that we are driving by so much that we are leaving unexplored! It will have to wait until next time.
Between listening to podcasts and audio books, we make a habit to listen to music related to the areas we are traveling through. Since we were heading to Clarksville today, we had to listen to "Take the Last Train to Clarksville." It has NOT improved with age!
We stayed in Clarksville at a motel. Being in town allowed us to get a new leash for Porsche, change the oil, check on a few things, and buy groceries.
The Quality Inn was of questionable “quality.“ The sink was plugged, the air conditioner roared, etc. we ate our own supper in the room, and I stayed put due to my sore throat. Woody went to the sauna both before and after dinner. I am looking for a good book to read in moments like this...
